Hi! I am Shawn, the Children’s Pastor for Saddleback Kids Lake Forest. Here are a few fun facts about me. In 2010 I married a Disney princess. No really, Brittany looks like Belle and is a Jedi Knight at Disneyland. We have two beautiful and highly active boys, Beckham and Brayden, who keep us laughing and exhausted most of the time. I am a NASA geek and am intrigued by anything that involves rockets and space travel. Oh and I LOVE Texas BBQ—Texas being the operative word there.

The fact that children are more fun than adults is not the ONLY reason I am passionate about children’s ministry. When I look at the very words of Jesus, I see that He placed children front and center as an example of the way we should receive God’s blessing. “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” Mark 10:14. Being part of a ministry that shepherds our children to know Jesus and understand how much He loves them is my greatest joy in life.

At Saddleback Kids Lake Forest we do a lot of learning, but we also have a LOT of fun. Lake Forest is a big campus but in the best of ways. We have tons of energetic Children’s Ministry programs that do a great job of getting children connected with God and with each other. Thanks to the amazing people in our church family and our loving volunteers and leaders, our big campus also feels personal and like home. Our goal each week is to make sure every child has been welcomed, appreciated and enriched. Our children connect with new friends, sing and dance in worship together, participate in games and activities and grow together in Christ.
